I agree there was only 1 Dream Team. Hopefully Coach K will put the best players on the floor for his system and not just the biggest names. I think when he gets a good rotation during games utilizing players like Hinrich and Bowen we will be competitive against everyone. We may not win the championship but we should be very strong in the Olympics.

Pardon me whilst I vomit. And this is our latest "Dream Team"?

    USA Hockey: 1-4 in Olympics
USA Soccer: fails to get out of prelims
USA Baseball: Flops like a flounder in World Championships
    USA Basketball ????

    [/ QUOTE ]

American sports aren't about "team"...they are about "individuals"...that's why we suck when we play TEAMS from around the world...

    Re: USA vs Brazil

I have to disagree about this U.S. basketball team being built on individuals. I watched the first two games, and they looked amazing. They beat Puerto Rico by 44 points, and Peurto Rico is ranked 11th in FIBA Rankings. They struggled with Brazil the other night, but that was their 3rd game since the previous Thursday. In that span of time, they also traveled from Vegas, to San Fran to Hong Kong, to China, that would take a lot out of any team. Coach K, is a good coach, and he has the team hungry to win. They are playing around a system. Someone on here said they didn't play defense, when in all acutality they have been forcing an average of 20 some turn overs a game and have been converting those into at least 30 fast break points. The other night they strugged in the first quarters against china and peurto rico, but slaughtered them in the 2,3, and 4th quarters. In the Peurto Rico game they went on a 31 to 4 run, and that run was started by defense. So in defense of the team... give them a break... they are growing as a team and mark my words, will win the world championships with a undefeated record, and will cruise to another olympic gold medal.
